7 soldiers were martyred near the Line of Control (Loc) in Turtuk sector of Ladakh on 27 May, 2022, Friday. The whole accident happened when 26 soldiers were reportedly moving from a transit camp at Partapur, near Siachen.
The driver driving the bus lost control of the bus and after that the bus fell into the Shyok river resulting in the death of 7 soldiers and 19 were injured.

The injured were sent to 403 Field hospital at Partapur. The surgical teams from Leh were moved there. Many of them have received fatal injuries during the accident. Efforts have been made to ensure the best medical facility can reach the hospital.
All the 19 injured soldiers were sent to the Western Command Hospital, Chandimandir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his feelings through a tweet, “My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being given to the affected”.

This is the second non-combatant incident this year. In February, our 7 brave soldiers also died in the avalanche. They dedicated their life in the service of our great nation.
