Boeing India CH-47 Chinook helicopter is a heavy lift helicopter which is among the heaviest lifting western helicopters. This tandem motor helicopter was developed by Vertol (An American Rotorcraft Company) and manufactured by Boeing Vertol.

It has tested in diverse, extreme conditions throughout the world. And it has the capability to operate in the wide range of conditions that diverse India offers.
In July 2018, India completed the first flight of Chinook helicopters in order to modernize the Indian Air Force.
Boeing announced the ahead of schedule arrival of the first four CH-47 Chinook helicopters for the Indian Air Force at Mundra Port in Gujarat.

The arrival of Chinooks proves Boeing’s commitment to deliver on its promise of modernizing India’s Defense forces. They ensured a high rate of mission readiness and increased operational capabilities.
In 2020, Boeing completed the delivery of 15 Chinook helicopters to the Indian Air Force.
In February 2020, the Indian Air Force started using Chinooks at Ladakh and Siachen glacier to assist Indian Forces deployed at the Indian borders with China and Pakistan.
