Prakash Raj is an Indian actor, film director, producer, TV presenter and politician.

He has worked in many language films like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

He received 5 National Film Awards, 8 Nandi Awards, 5 Filmfare South, 4 SIIMA Awards, 8 Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, and 3 Vijay Awards.

Prakash’s Personal Life :-

Born on 26 March 1965 in Bangalore.

The name of his parents were Manjunath Rai and Swarnalatha.

He has a brother named Prasad Raj, who is also an actor. 

Studied at St. Joseph’s Indian High School and joined St. Joseph’s College Of Commerce for further studies. 

Prakash Raj changed his surname “Rai” to “Raj” on the advice of K. Balachander, a Tamil Director.

Prakash Raj Married to actress Lalitha Kumari in 1994. The pair got divorced in 2009. 

They have two daughters Meghana and Pooja and had a son Sidhu who died in 2004.

He married to Pony Verma, a choreographer, on 24 August 2010.

The pair had a son named Vedanth

Acting Career of Prakash Raj :-

He made his film debut in a Tamil film “Duet” by K. Balachander.

Before his debut, he used to act on stage and he did more than 2,000 street theater.

Praksh entered Kannada movies through the movie “Nagamandala” in 1997 and due to his great performance he was selected for the Indian Panorama in The International Film Festival.

He also starred in multi starrer movie “Khakee” in 2004 with Amitabh Bachhan, Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar, and Tushaar Kapoor.

After Khakee he also starred in the movie “Wanted” as the main villain since then he became a popular villain in Bollywood movies.

Directorial career of Prakash Raj :-

Prakash Raj Made his directorial debut with “Naanu Nannu Kanasu” in 2010 starring himself and Amoolya. He was the joint producer of the movie and was nominated for the Filmfare South “Best Director” for his first film.

He did many more movies as a director and his movie “Oggarane” in 2014, Kannada version became the blockbuster hit of the year.

Many rumors were there that Prakash Raj replaced Anant Nag in “KGF: Chapter 2” but the director and writer “Prashanth Neel” of the movie explained that he is going to play a new role in the movie.
