A very sad news for the comic industry that the famous Indian comedian, actor and politician Raju Srivastava passed away at the age of 58. The nephew of Raju Srivastava confirmed the news of his death on 21 September, Wednesday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended condolences on the demise of the comedian and said that his death is a “great loss” to the art world.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed grief over the comedian’s demise and tweeted, “Received very sad news of the demise of famous comedian Shri Raju Srivastava ji. May God grant the virtuous soul a place at his feet and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this immense pain.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister also condoled Srivastava’s death and said the news has come as a shock to the entertainment world.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the comedian’s death is an irreparable loss to the art and film world. “Deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Shri Raju Shrivastava, a well-known comedian and our most loved BJP leader, who has made a mark in the film industry with his simple humor. His death is an irreparable loss to the art and film world,” he said.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also expressed sorrow and said, “It’s regretful that Raju Srivastava is no more with us. He came from a poor family with his talent & hard work; created his presence in the world. Very few talented comedians like him. I remember how he wanted to contest from Kanpur when he joined SP.”

He was admitted at the AIIMS hospital after he experienced chest pain and collapsed while working out at a gym. He was on the ventilator for 41 days. The time of death is 10:20 am and it is confirmed by the family of Raju Srivsatava.
Recently, his brother Dipoo Srivastava had said that the comedian was recovering slowly but was unconscious.
Raju Srivastava’s wife had spoken on September 6 and said, “All I can say is that his condition is stable and he is still on a ventilator. The medical team is doing their best and we all want your prayers, so that he recovers and is back with us.
Raju’s chief advisor Ajit Saxena along with his close friends had visited the Panki temple, praying for his speedy recovery.
Raju was in the entertainment industry since the 1980s and shot to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. He was entitled with the title of “The King of Comedy”.
