After the abolition of Article 370, the first Khelo India Winter Games were held in February and March 2020 in Leh and Gulmarg. Jammu and Kashmir showed their sports talent by winning most gold medals.
The second edition of the winter games were also held successfully in Gulmarg in 2020 and Jammu and Kashmir came first while Karnataka came in second position.
The major games in Kashmir include cricket, football and winter sports along with many other sports like golf, Ice stockport etc.
Jammu and Kashmir has 19 stadiums, 23 training centres, and 3 indoor sports complexes and 43 government maintained playing fields.
Kashmir represents India internationally in various sports and many sportsmen have attained glory from the sports.

Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh

An Indian Wushu practitioner, who won bronze at the 2015 World Wushu Championships in Kazan. He also won a gold medal at the 2016 South Asian Games in the 60 Kg category.
Aadil Manzoor Peer

An Indian International ice stock sport athlete. He also represented India at Austria attaining 10th Rank.
Lone Nasir

An Indian cricketer, who made his List-A debut in 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy representing Jammu and Kashmir.
Palak Kour Bijral

An Indian gymnast, who represented India at International Competitions. She competed at the 2014 Commonwealth games.
Umran Malik

An Indian cricketer, who is currently a net bowler for Indian Team in the ICC World T20 because of his high pace.
Chain Singh

An Indian sport shooter and a junior high commissioned officer in the Indian Army. He won an individual Gold Medal in the 7th Asian Airgun Championship Kuwait.
Afshan Ashiq

An Indian Footballer, currently the captain of Jammu and Kashmir girls football team.
Abdul Majeed Kakroo

An Indian footballer, who represented India at the 1984 Asian Cup. He captained team India in the 1987 Nehru Cup and he became the first player from Kashmir to captain India.
Aquib Nabi

An Indian cricketer, he made his debut from Jammu & Kashmir in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare trophy. He made his T20 Debut in 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Iqra Rasool

An Indian Cricketer also known as “Baramulla’s Supergirl” who represented Jammu & Kashmir at U-19 and U-23 level.
