Agni V is ready for action !
The most awaited defense project of India is now completed and it is ready to destroy India’s enemy. On 15 December 2022, the first night trial of Agni-V was successfully carried out by SFC from Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha. The test was to validate new technologies and equipment on the missile which is now lighter than before. The missile is now 20 percent lighter because of the use of composite materials rather than steel material. The launch also proved that the missile can hit beyond 7000+ kms.

Agni V is a surface to surface missile which is specially developed by India to deal with the threat of China. Actually China’s most of the important economic centers lay on its eastern seaboard. The longest range missile India had was Agni-III, with a range of 3000–3500 km and it was unable to attack China’s economic centers. But now that India has developed Agni V which has thge ability to hit anywhere in China including Beijing.
Senior defense scientist M. Natarajan disclosed in 2007 that DRDO was working on an upgraded version of the Agni III, known as the Agni-V, and that it would be ready in 4 years. The missile was to have a range of more than 5,000 kilometers.
As part of a user trial, Agni-V was successfully launched on October 27, 2021 and December 15, 2022 from Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha. According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the test was in line with India’s credible minimum deterrence policy with the commitment to ‘No First Use’.

Reaction in India after testing
In India, the success of the launch was received with much acclaim and widespread media coverage. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO. Missile Program Director Avinash Chander hailed the launch saying it signified “giant strides.”
